HOW EYE SEE IT

We are not monolithic, my art is not only about How I (Eye) See It (HESI), but what it invites others to see when it meets the eye.

H.E.S.I. is a New York based collective I started with a goal to shine the light on the importance of authenticity, by using art as a vehicle to motivate others to be themselves and affirm those around them. When I started painting, raw materials like metals, plastic and wood found outside were my only medium. Things in its natural state were recreated to how I saw it and portrayed for others to see. As I became a more experienced artist, I added canvas and thrifted clothing to my portfolio, but didn’t stray from the unconventional mediums.

My artwork is mainstream disruptive inspired pieces, which employ bold colors and form to demonstrate my interpretation of cultural and ethical relationships. Faces often portrayed in my work are provoking and represent faces of humanity, individuality, pain, suffering, no face is the same.
